"Getting To Know You" Pre Wedding Shoot Featuring Paulo & Sarah

"GETTING TO KNOW YOU" SERIES

PAULO & SARAH

Paulo & Sarah are the very 1st of the "Getting To Know
You" Pre-Wedding shoots that I will be doing this summer.
They are the sweetest couple and will be getting married on
the Fourth of July. She is going to be a beautiful bride and
Paulo will be a handsome Groom...

I am just getting started in Wedding Photography and the
"Getting To Know You" shoot is included in the Bridal
Package. This year only, I will be shooting the entire
Wedding Event for $500.00. This includes all edited images
burned to a CD with a release to print. Proofs and Albums
will be extra; however, I will give a huge discount on them
as well.

The whole idea of the "Getting To Know You" series is for
the Bride and Groom to get comfortable posing for me. I want
To learn a little more about them, likes, dislikes, personalities etc.
It didn't take too long for all of us to get down to
business. With a few suggestions from both sides
we were set to go. Sarah has the most amazing
hair!

Loved the way they just relaxed and went with the flow.

This was one of my favorite shots. Very sweet!

Fun With Brett & Kass

Last night was the first young couples shoot that I Shot.
The models in this shoot are Kass & Brett. What fun we had!
They both were wonderful and easy to work with. Because of
the time of day, 5:00 PM...we had to deal with the sun, but
overall we got some nice shots. The sun actually had some nice
effects in some of the shots.
I am still learning to use my camera on manual...so not all
the colors came out...I still have to work with my white
balance a little more...so, they agreed to model again for
me very soon!

This shot was one of my favorites as I love
Black & White images.

I had fun trying to merge two photos...that's a whole
other lesson...LOL

This shot was totally blown out by the sun
so I decided to blow it out more and add more
shadows for depth for a cool effect. I like the
way it came out!

Love the way the light danced on Kass's face...and Brett, well...
need I say more...he is just Handsome!

White Balance & Aperture

Sunday, I decided to pull out my camera and
play with the manual settings so that I
can be a little more creative when taking
photos.

I put in a Tutorial DVD which brought me
through every feature of my camera. I
also watched another DVD regarding
ISO, Shutter speed and Aperture and white
balance, which is very important to know.
I have to say I really learned something!
I now have a better understanding of the
three and also a better understanding of
my lenses.

The Picture above was set for AV. Aperture
Value. I also set my white balance manually.
You can read below how I did that.

Below are a few of the photos I took
after my lessons. I am very pleased
with what I learned and will watch the
DVD again to reinforce what I learned.

I focused on the fence post using a f/2.8
aperture.

With this shot, I placed a piece of 8x10 white paper
over the muffins, I then focused my camera on the paper
so that it filled the frame and took a shot. I then set my
white balance to this paper and took the picture of the
muffins. The color came out perfect. The room was low light,
and still I didn't have to use a flash!

David & Kelly...Life Has A Funny Way Of Coming Back Around Again!

Who would ever think that when you were twelve
years old and babysitting the neighbor's girls
that your paths would cross in adulthood.

This is the case with Kelly seen here with her
Husband, Dave of 18 years. I haven't seen
Kelly or her sister, Cindy for years. They moved
and we moved and we never stayed in touch;
after all, what teen stays in touch with a little
girl she babysat when she was Twelve? Not me!

I lived in the same neighborhood as
Kelly and her younger sister Cindy.
I was often asked to babysit while her parents went out.
I remember we used to watch Charlie Brown! Kelly
can share a lot more memories of our times
together I am sure. I believe the "Osmond"
brother's played a big part of the memories
of our sitting nights LOl

I was going to marry Jay Osmond!I can honestly
say, that there are some dreams that
do NOT come true! Lol

I first ran into Kelly at Church. She remembered
me first! I must have made a huge impact on her
life. Ha Ha. She shared many things we used to do
when I babysat...amazing what she remembers.
I guess I was a pretty fun babysitter...who would
of thought!

When Kelly and I met up again, she wasn't married
at the time. But love has a way of finding you....and that
is where David comes in. I haven't heard the Story
of how they met...but I am glad that after many years,
I get to see a little girl I babysat, find her Prince and I get
to be their Photographer.

Life has a funny way of coming back around!

Fun With Jessica A Co-Worker

Meet my little friend Jessica Gerald!
She is a co-worker of mine and quite
energetic and fun. Though most people
would use golf clubs to play golf, Jessica
uses the club as a posing prop. LOL

I have to say...she really knows how to use her irons...

Check out this shot...she is amazing with the
clubs...Tiger Woods...Look out!

Jessica is a loan Specialist for York County FCU
and is an asset to our company...however, if you
need tips on your Golf Game...she's NOT the one to ask.

She may not know how to use the clubs on an
actual golf course, but, she CAN give you tips
on how to look good with your iron!
Thanks Sweet Pea!

A SESSION WITH THE NEAL FAMILY

This is one of my favorite shoots.
I can honestly say this is a family that
has been through the storm in the past
year. John and Denise are the proud parents
of 5 year old Triplets, Zachary, Ian, and Saralin.
Talk about needing roller skates! After spending
just a little over an hour with them gave me a
whole new appreciation for what Denise & John
go through on a daily basis.

What really makes this family amazing, is that Denise
is battling cancer and is in remission. She has been
cancer free for one year now and her hair is back!
She decided this was the year to have family
pictures done and knowing that I was starting out
in my photography business, she asked me to
do the session with them. I jumped at the
opportunity because Denise is an amazing woman.
Even though she is facing the unknown, she smiles
and conquers every day with a smile. She is upbeat
and her laugh is contagious.

This was the first Family Picture. It
has been a long time since they have been
able to have family Portraits done. What
a beautiful Family!

In this photo, Denise was holding Saralin's
hand, a precious Mother and Daughter
moment.

I was able to get this shot of Denise as she
sneaked a kiss in between shots with
Saralin.

When I see this picture, I say God is good!
What beautiful children...FULL of ENERGY!

When it comes to the boys, they are full of
curiosity and wonder...speaking of wonder, I
wonder which one this is...Zachary or Ian.
Sorry..I am not sure, so I guess I'll keep on
wondering. But isn't he CUTE!

He had the big boy pose down and
wanted everyone to know it! LOL

I can say Ian & Zachary were so funny.
They were so cute together and just loved
hamming it up for me!

Saralin was so sweet and dainty.
I don't know how she keeps up with
her brothers, but she does. She was so cold here
and wanted her coat. I have to say
though the sun was shining, it was COLD!

This was one of my favorite shoots and
I hope I get to do their Senior portraits
someday!

A Visit To Tennessee

I believe in my September of 09 blog I shared
that my two handsome Grandsons had moved to
Tennessee. Life has been pretty empty without
them. I miss their hugs and wet little kisses.

My husband and I decided in November to take
our first flight ever! I always said I would never
step a toenail on a plane. I have to say, NEVER say
NEVER...life has a way of making things happen.
It was either fly, or I wouldn't see my Grandsons.

I do have to say...it wasn't bad, pretty fun actually!
Now I know what they mean when they say the
clouds look like cotton candy. They do!

While in Tennessee, I decided to do a session
with my Daughter Brandie, Son in-law Wesley,
and my two Grandsons Emerson and Owen.
I have to say...the pictures came out pretty
good for a beginning photographer.

The Shot above is my Favorite of Emerson
with his raccoon hat. SOOO CUTE!

This shot was of the family and the one they
used on their Christmas card.

A close up of my little "Owie Bear"
He is just the sweetest little boy.

My Son in-law Wesley, is a great Dad
and the boys just love their Daddy!

Brandie is an amazing Mom and
because of her Teacher background,
she is able to keep the boys on a
pretty good schedule of fun activities
and learning life's skills. They are smart
little boys.

We are going back out to Tennesse
this fall, BUT we are driving LOL.
Tennesse was absolutely beautiful, I
would move there in a heart beat if
my husband said we could....who knows...
never say NEVER!
As you can see Brady loves action, whether it be jumping off a rock and psong in mid-air, or running with Mya.

Brady Thistle in this Session

Wow, where has the time gone? I cannot believe I haven't blogged since November! Truth is, I have had a lot on my plate. My life has been going at a speed of 100 MPH! Now that things are starting to slow down, I can actually see the road ahead...there are images and people and yes, there's my LIFE! I'm BACK. In between all the craziness, I have still managed to get out and shoot a few sessions. Hope you enjoy some of the images I am going to share!

This session is with Brady Thistle, a young, energetic, 5 year old. He is part of our family as his Mom and My son are seriously dating and have been for a little over a year now. Brady enjoys hanging out with Mya and Mya absolutely loves Brady.

This is the big boy pose I taught Brady. He thought is was pretty cool. but his favorite shot was the one jumping up in the air...now that was COOL!

About Me

My photo
I am learning to navigate through life without my kids.Learning that I can do anything I set my mind to and that Tomorrow is always fresh with no mistakes. I am discovering that my happiness is not based on people...I am learning that happiness is from within, and is a gift from God. I am learning that when my eyes remain fixed upon Him...I can remain happy even with my grandsons so far away. I am learning it's ok to be me.
